It’s February. Time to stop saying Happy New Year. And time to stop beating yourself up about those big and now failed resolutions. You know those massive commitments to change that eventually make us feel like we’re trapped in our own version of the movie Groundhog Day — and usually by about Groundhog Day. Here’s a better way to help foster the lasting life changes that make you and your employees physically and mentally healthier.
The idea for Lifestyle Benefits came to my wife Lisa and me last summer. After mixed results with hardcore diets and tough-love exercise regimes, we decided only the cumulative effect of small positive lifestyle changes would give us the lasting results that we wanted. Eating healthy, exercising regularly — just one small choice at a time for a lifetime. This new approach has been liberating and the results, uplifting. So we thought— how could we inspire this paradigm shift in our own employees and in the employees of our clients? The key is positioning people for success by putting opportunities for positive change at their fingertips.
Lifestyle Benefits make it easier for employees to be physically and mentally healthier by offering affordable, easy access to things like:
So how does all this benefit employers? The positive impact on your workplace can be dramatic and long lasting:
And the benefits to employees are clear:
We’ve seen the value of these benefits firsthand in our own team and that’s why we’re now adding Lifestyle Benefits to the Serre Financial PHSP offering. Include Lifestyle Benefits in a new PHSP program with us or add it onto an existing plan as a new category of your online profile. Here’s an example of how it works for existing programs. For a class of employees with a $2000 health-spending limit, you can reallocate up to $500 to Lifestyle Benefits per employee. With that, employees have more incentive to make positive lifestyle changes that benefit everyone and entrench loyalty to you, their employer.
